About The Show

For the past two decades, the culture of hip hop has grown exponentially, becoming a global force. It is a culture that thrives on being recognized and seen through various forms of art such as music and dance. Youth today are growing with the evolution of hip hop, and the industry has shown enormous growth with the widespread coverage of hip hop dancers on hit TV shows such as "America's Best Dance Crew" and "So You Think You Can Dance".

Nu-Lite Entertainment and Fuel Productions have come together to honour and celebrate the growing hip hop dance industry by hosting a global competition in Toronto, Canada, called The Beat Down Hip Hop Dance Competition ("The Beat Down").

The Beat Down is one of the largest and most popular hip-hop competition of its kind in Canada. With support from specific dance organizations worldwide, The Beat Down has already become a credible competition and a high caliber for success.

The Beat Down was held at the Ryerson University Theatre, located in the heart of downtown, Toronto. The show brought in a crowd of over 1000 patrons annually. This year the competition will once again be held at the Ryerson Theatre due to its prime location and the event celebrating its third year.
